The mission of the retreat is to move your playing on leaps and bounds, whatever your playing level. Learn first hand from Paulus Schäfer, Chris Quinn (regular rhythm guitarist for Robin Nolan, Stochelo Rosenberg) and Christiaan Van Hemert  known for his popular youtube channel and his online school "The Rosenberg Academy"

Receive expert tuition and insider tips and tricks on how to improve all aspects of your playing.  Learn the gypsy chord shapes, the rhythm styles, scales, improvisation techniques and ideas,  practice  methods  and take part in jams and group performances. There's also the option to perform at a Sunday night public concert.

Intimate group sessions are fun, relaxed and to say invaluable is a massive understatement. The Gypsy Jazz Retreat - UK attracts a wide range of abilities from near beginners to more advanced players; everyone is welcome. At times students will be split into groups depending on ability. Tutors will be on hand giving one on one coaching throughout the weekend.

The 2024 retreat takes place at one the 4* The Prince Rupert, one of Shrewsbury's best known hotels with different rooms for learning. Festival concerts take place in an intimate theatre nearby, as a retreat attendee, you'll have reserved front row seating!
